This is as far north as I got.
I had planned to head east to Cajamarca and Tarapoto and return south along the East of Peru in the jungle.
However, the roads were impassable due to heavy rains and I had fly back to the UK in 4 weeks time - the likelihood of being stuck (literally) in the jungle was a risk I was un-willing to take.
Guess this will have to wait for another time.
So, I decided to return to Huanchaco and spend a few weeks "resting".
On hindsight, I should have gone north to Piura, Tumbes and Marcona.
However, I had been told that these were predominately "tourist" spots and this wasn't what I was looking for.
